【摘要】:Dynamicmechanicalanalysisprovidesameasureoftherheologicalpropertiesofroofingandwaterproofingmembranematerials.Thermogravimetryisusedtocharacterizethethermalstabilityofroofingandwaterproofingmembranematerialsunderthespecifictemperatureprogramandgaseousatmosphereconditionsselectedfortheanalysis.Bothdynamicmechanicalanalysisandthermogravimetryareusedtoevaluatetheeffectofeitherlaboratory-simulatedorin-serviceexposureonroofingandwaterproofingmembranematerials.Bothdynamicmechanicalanalysisandthermogravimetrycanbeappliedtoasphaltshingles.However,theirapplicationtoasphaltshinglesisbeyondthescopeofthispractice,whichislimitedtolow-slopemembranematerialsatthistime.Thispracticecanbeusefulinthedevelopmentofperformancecriteriaforroofingandwaterproofingmembranematerials.1.1ThispracticecoverstestproceduresandconditionsthatareapplicablewhenTestMethodsD5023,D5024,D5026,D5279,andD5418areusedforconductingdynamicmechanicalanalysisofroofingandwaterproofingmembranematerialinthree-pointbending,compression,tension,torsion,anddualcantilevermodes,respectively.Thespecificmethodisselectedbytheanalystanddependsonthemembranematerialandtheoperatingprinciplesoftheindividualinstrumentusedfortheanalysis.1.2ThispracticecoverstestproceduresandconditionsthatareapplicablewhenTestMethodE1131isusedforconductingthermogravimetryofroofingandwaterproofingmembranematerial.1.3Membranematerialsincludebituminousbuilt-uproofing,polymer-modifiedbitumensheets,vulcanizedrubbers,non-vulcanizedpolymericsheets,andthermoplastics.Themembranematerialscanbeeithernonreinforcedorreinforced.1.4Thispracticeisapplicabletonewmembranematerialsreceivedfromthesupplier,thoseexposedartificiallyinthelaboratoryoroutdoorsonanexposurerack,andthosesampledfromfieldinstallations.1.5Thispracticecontainsnoteswhichareexplanatoryandarenotpartofthemandatoryrequirementsofthispractice.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesinparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
