【摘要】:Thispracticeusesaweight-lossmethodofweardeterminationforthepolymericcomponentsormaterialsusedinhumanjointprostheses,usingserumordemonstratedequivalentfluidforlubrication,andrunningunderaloadprofilerepresentativeoftheappropriatehumanjointapplication(1,2).4Thebasisforthisweight-lossmethodforwearmeasurementwasoriginallydeveloped(3)forpin-on-diskwearstudies(PracticeF732)andhasbeenextendedtototalhipreplacements(4,5,ISO14242x2013;2,andGuideF1714)andtofemoro-tibialkneeprostheses(6andISO14243x2013;2),andtofemoro-patellarkneeprostheses(6,7).Whilewearresultsinachangeinthephysicaldimensionsofthespecimen,itisdistinctfromdimensionalchangesduetocreeporplasticdeformation,inthatwearresultsintheremovalofmaterialintheformofpolymericdebrisparticles,causingalossinweightofthespecimen.Thispracticeformeasuringwearofthepolymericcomponentissuitableforvarioussimulatordevices.Thesetechniquescanbeusedwithmetal,ceramic,carbon,polymeric,andcompositecounterfacesbearingagainstapolymericmaterial(forexample,polyethylene,polyacetal,andsoforth).Thus,thisweight-lossmethodhasuniversalapplicationforwearstudiesofhumanjointreplacementswhichfeaturepolymericbearings.Thisweight-lossmethodhasnotbeenvalidatedfornon-polymericmaterialbearingsystems,suchasmetal-metal,carbon-carbon,orceramic-ceramic.Progressivewearofsuchrigidbearingcombinationshasgenerallybeenmonitoredusingalinear,variable-displacementtransducers,orbyotherprofilometrictechniques.1.1Thispracticedescribesalaboratorymethodusingaweight-loss(thatis,mass-loss;seeX1.4)techniqueforevaluatingthewearpropertiesofpolymericmaterialsordeviceswhicharebeingconsideredforuseasbearingsurfacesofhumanjointreplacementprostheses,orboth.Thetestspecimensareevaluatedinadeviceintendedtosimulatethetribologicalconditionsencounteredinthehumanjoint;forexample,useofafluidsuchasbovineserum,orequivalentpseudosynovialfluidshowntosimulatesimilarwearmechanismsanddebrisgenerationasfoundinvivo.

【摘要】:Thepresenceandconcentrationofoilandgreaseindomesticandindustrialwastewaterisofconcerntothepublicbecauseofitsdeleteriousaestheticeffectanditsimpactonaquaticlife.Regulationsandstandardshavebeenestablishedthatrequiremonitoringofoilandgreaseinwaterandwastewater.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofoilandgreaseandnonpolarmaterialinwaterandwastewaterbyaninfrared(IR)determinationofdimer/trimerofchlorotrifluoroethylene(S-316)extractablesubstancesfromanacidifiedsample.Includedinthisestimationofoilandgreaseareanyothercompoundssolubleinthesolvent.1.2Themethodisapplicabletomeasurementofthelightfuelalthoughlossofsomelightendsduringextractioncanbeexpected.1.3ThismethoddefinesoilandgreaseinwaterandwastewaterasthatwhichisextractableinthetestmethodandmeasuredbyIRabsorptionat2930cm-1or3.4microns.Similarly,thistestmethoddefinesnonpolarmaterialinwaterandwastewaterasthatoilandgreasewhichisnotadsorbedbysilicagelinthetestmethodandmeasuredbyIRabsorptionat2930cm-1.1.4Thismethodcoverstherangeof5to100mg/Landmaybeextendedtoalowerorhigherlevelbyextractionofalargerorsmallersamplevolumecollectedseparately.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddetermine(D3856GuideforGoodLaboratoryPractices)theapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
