【摘要】:TestMethodsD629forthedeterminationofquantitativeanalysisoftextilesmaybeusedforacceptancetestingofcommercialshipmentsbutcautionisadvisedsinceinformationonbetween-laboratoryprecisionislacking.Comparativetestsasdirectedin5.1.1orbyTableD1909maybeadvisable.IncaseofadisputearisingfromdifferencesinreportedtestresultsusingTestMethodsD629foracceptancetestingofcommercialshipments,thepurchaserandthesuppliershouldconductcomparativeteststodetermineifthereisastatisticalbiasbetweentheirlaboratories.Competentstatisticalassistanceisrecommendedfortheinvestigationofbias.Asaminimum,thetwopartiesshouldtakeagroupoftestspecimenswhichareashomogeneousaspossibleandwhicharefromalotofmaterialofthetypeinquestion.Thetestspecimenshouldthenberandomlyassignedinequalnumberstoeachlaboratoryfortesting.TheaverageresultsfromthetwolaboratoriesshouldbecomparedusingStudent''st-testandanacceptableprobabilitylevelchosenbythetwopartiesbeforethetestingbegan.Ifabiasisfound,eitheritscausemustbefoundandcorrectedorthepurchaserandsuppliermustagreetointerpretfuturetestresultsinthelightoftheknownbias.Theeffectsofthevariousreagentsusedinthechemicalmethodsontheresidualfibersinablenddependuponthehistoryofthefibersand,unlessotherwisestated,aregenerallytoosmallortoouncertaintowarranttheapplicationofcorrectionfactors.Fibercompositionisgenerallyexpressedeitherontheoven-drymassoftheoriginalsampleortheoven-drymassofthecleanfiberaftertheremovalofnonfibrousmaterials.Ifnonfibrousmaterialsarenotfirstremovedfromthetextilebeforethefiberanalysisiscarriedout,orifthetreatmentsdescribedinSection8areincapableofremovingthem,anysuchmaterialspresentwillincreasethepercentageofthefiberconstituentwithwhichtheyareremovedduringtheanalysis,assumingtheyaresolubleinthesolventused.Theanalyticalmethodsareintendedprimarilyfortheseparationofbinarymixturesoffibers.Theseproceduresmayalsobeusedfortheanalysisofmixturescontainingmorethantwotypesoffibersbyselectingthebestcombinationofmethodstouse(Table1).Sinceasequenceofsolventsonagivenfibermayproducedifferentresultsthantheexpectedresultsfromasinglesolvent,itisadvisabletodeterminetheresultsofsuchsequentialeffectswhentestingmultiplefiberblends.Itissometimesmoreconvenienttoseparatemechanicallytheyarnsinatextilewhichareofsimilartypes,andthenusetheappropriatechemicalmethodtoanalyzeeachofthecomponents.Table2showsthesolubilitiesofthevariousfibersindifferentchemicalreagents.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverproceduresforthedeterminationofthefiberblendcompositionofmixturesofthefiberslistedin1.2.Proceduresforquantitativeestimationoftheamountofmoistureandcertainnonfibrousmaterialsintextilesarealsodescribed,foruseintheanalysisofmixtures,butthesearenottheprimarymethodsforthedeterminationofmoisturecontentforcommercialweights.
